The engineer will deliver transmission line design and engineering consulting for utility clients, independent power producers, and developers, covering line layout, foundations, structures, insulation and conductor specifications. Responsibilities include preparing material specifications, designing substations and control houses, reviewing internal and external designs for code compliance, resolving site queries, conducting inspections, and maintaining complete project documentation.
The role also requires coordinating design activities with multidisciplinary teams, managing relationships with suppliers and contractors, collecting and analyzing data for procurement packages, and applying future‑ready techniques such as equipment sizing, AC/DC panel design, and conduit strategies. The engineer will support senior staff with research, verify site characteristics, develop electrical calculations, produce visualizations and technical reports, and ensure quality‑control standards are met.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical or related engineering, at least seven years of transmission line design experience, and a Professional Engineer license (or ability to obtain one). Candidates must be proficient with PLS‑Cadd and other design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.), possess strong communication and problem‑solving skills, and demonstrate knowledge of IEEE, ANSI, and relevant codes. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree and experience with infrastructure planning and construction management.
