In this position you will lead and supervise the Zone Management team, overseeing requirements management and cross‑discipline interface coordination. You will be accountable for establishing cross‑discipline interface requirements, ensuring alignment and integration across all design teams, and conducting technical reviews to facilitate collaboration and resolve interface issues while supporting quality and schedule objectives.
Key accountabilities include providing technical guidance throughout the design process, developing and maintaining the Interface Management Plan, and managing technical coordination of the Consultant's design with internal teams and external stakeholders. You will also establish and keep up‑to‑date a comprehensive Technical Interface Register and Interface Matrix, capturing all relevant information and formal communications such as Technical Queries.
You will define interface requirements, develop a coordinated interface schedule with clear milestones, and track progress of design integration, monitoring issues and ensuring timely closure. Representation of the project in key design and technical meetings, organization of coordination workshops, and leading interdisciplinary reviews are essential to drive consistency and resolve outstanding issues.
Functional and technical reviews of design packages will be undertaken before release, in close coordination with the System Assurance Team for safety assessments related to interfaces. You will ensure all design teams provide required inputs as per the agreed program and liaise with the Systems Requirements Manager to maintain compliance with the Design Management Plan, Project Management Plan, and Quality Management protocols.
Arcadis seeks a skilled Design Interface Manager to support the Fraser River Tunnel Project (FRTP), a complex infrastructure initiative requiring seamless coordination across multiple engineering disciplines. The role involves managing design interfaces throughout the project lifecycle, with a strong focus on developing and implementing the technical definition process to ensure all interface requirements are clearly defined, documented, and integrated into the tunnel design.
Qualifications include at least 15 years of relevant experience, a Professional Engineering License, and proven experience in the design of multi‑disciplinary infrastructure projects. Demonstrated engineering management and interface management experience in multi‑disciplinary infrastructure projects are essential.

The salary range for this position is $128,000 to $178,000, representing Arcadis' hiring range with actual compensation varying based on location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
