The Commissioner role supports Nordex’s mission to deliver 100% renewable energy by commissioning new wind farms, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical components, and performing retrofits when projects are not active. This position also assists Operations and Maintenance functions, ensuring turbines operate reliably.
- Commission and verify functionality of Nordex wind turbines using documented procedures.
- Connect turbines to remote surveillance systems for functional testing.
- Perform independent fault analysis to identify root causes and resolve issues.
- Test electrical and mechanical protective devices.
- Diagnose and correct minor faults autonomously.
- Execute turbine retrofits following approved work instructions.
- Support Operations & Maintenance activities when not on active projects.
- Document and report technical problems, faults, component defects, daily activities, and performance data per company guidelines.
- Inventory spare parts, coordinate procurement with site manager, and track part usage.
- Manage and safeguard Nordex materials, tools, and property.
- Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Follow Nordex manuals and regulations to complete tasks efficiently, on time, and with high quality.

Safety is paramount; you will follow all safety policies, wear required personal protective equipment, and meet physical demands such as lifting up to 50 lb and working at heights above 100 m. The role requires the ability to work in confined spaces, pass a pre‑employment medical exam, and travel domestically and internationally up to 90% of the time.
Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or technical training, at least two years of electrical trade or related experience, and 1–2 years in the wind industry. They possess strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and fiber‑optic systems, are fluent in English and French, and demonstrate leadership, problem‑solving and organizational skills.

- Two‑year technical college degree or minimum two years of electrical trade experience.
- 1–2 years of wind‑industry experience with relevant training.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fiber‑optic systems and repair of Nordex/Acciona turbines.
- Proficiency in operating various switchgear types.
- Strong independent problem‑solving and results‑oriented troubleshooting skills.
- Leadership, communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and prepare detailed reports.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lb, climb ladders, work at heights >100 m, and meet weight limits for climbing equipment.
- Valid driver’s license, ability to travel 70–90 % domestically/internationally, and possession of a passport (US/Canadian as required).
- Fluency in English and French; Spanish or German a plus.
