Health Safety Environment Advisor

In this position, you’ll play a vital role in driving a proactive safety culture, implementing and maintaining health, safety, and environmental systems, and ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, and company policies.

• Maintain strong communication with stakeholders and uphold Altrad’s “Our Safety Culture” values
• Collaborate with project leadership to identify and implement process improvements
• Lead incident investigations and develop improvement actions to prevent recurrence
• Review and oversee permits, JSA and SWMS documentation
• Implement and maintain HSE management systems in alignment with company and client requirements
• Provide coaching and mentoring to the workforce to drive ownership of HSE outcomes
• Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections, ensuring proactive hazard management
• Facilitate and contribute to pre-starts, toolbox talks, and HSE training sessions

Altrad is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join our team on a major Iron Ore Structural Remediation project in the Pilbara. This site-based role operates on a 2:2 FIFO roster from Perth, offering the opportunity to contribute to a key long-term maintenance project within the resources sector.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
• Diploma in OH&S, HSEQ, Risk Management, or a related discipline (minimum Cert IV required)
• Ability to deliver engaging training and toolbox sessions to diverse teams
• Strong working knowledge of relevant HSE legislation, standards, and best practices
• Strong communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills
• 5+ years’ experience in a HSE role, ideally within the iron ore sector
• Demonstrated experience in incident investigation and HSE system implementation
