Manufacturing Production Controller

Description

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and process documentation refinement.
• Manage and schedule work orders to support both new construction and overhaul programs.
• Coordinate with Waterfront Engineering, Planning, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing leads to translate MWRFs into actionable work orders and ensure scheduling within production workflows.
• Monitor work-in-progress (WIP), resolve workflow bottlenecks, and ensure timely completion of manufacturing tasks.
• Serve as the central point of contact for all MWRFs initiated by submarine overhaul, DDS, and New Construction Project teams.
• Interface daily with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and other departments or organizations to maintain alignment and support assigned projects.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production and technical issues.
• Assist with preparing and reviewing quotations.
• Track and report production status, material availability, and shop priorities to project stakeholders.
• Coordinate manufacturing schedules with Project Managers to optimize machine and personnel utilization.
• Drive and support process improvements to enhance efficiency in both the Machine Shop and Fabrication Shop.
• Support the timely fabrication and delivery of components critical to overhaul, DDS, and new construction schedules.
• Interpret production processes and job-related information for team members.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal procedures and quality standards.
• Review MWRFs for accuracy, completeness, and priority alignment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to secure cooperation and approval for actions and solutions.
• Attend Project meetings as required to provide input or updates.
• Forms (MWRF) and all other technical work documents.
• Assist Project Manager(s) with a variety of details associated with materials, schedules, and resource availability.
• Work with project managers and project engineers to communicate delays or issues and help develop mitigation strategies.
• Maintain, review, track, and prepare for certification of Task Group Instructions, Condition Reports, Manufacturing Work Request

Requirements

• High School/GED and additional administrative vocational courses.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Power Point, and Excel.
• Prior knowledge of MSD operations and trade experience (e.g., Welder, Fitter, Inside Machinist, Outside Machinist, etc.).
• Completion of vocational administrative courses.
• Ability to effectively communicate with personnel within the company.
• Minimum eight (8) years working in a manufacturing environment.
