Key responsibilities include performing repairs and preventive maintenance, inspecting and diagnosing electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems, using vehicle computer electronics to interpret failures, estimating time and material costs, ordering parts, and completing work within Standard Repair Times. The technician also handles emergency breakdown service calls, conducts safety checks, completes required paperwork in the fleet maintenance software, reviews driver vehicle inspection reports, and performs maintenance tasks as needed.
GFL Environmental is seeking a 310T Truck & Coach Technician for its Residential lines at the Pickering, ON site. The role involves preventive maintenance, inspection, diagnosis, and repair of vehicles and equipment, working under limited supervision using written instructions and established procedures.
Required knowledge, skills, and competencies include a high school diploma or GED plus at least two years of automotive/truck or heavy equipment maintenance experience or a vocational technical program, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while occasionally training apprentices. Candidates must be proficient in diagnosing and repairing fuel, ignition, cooling, mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and air brake systems, understand safety procedures, operate relevant tools and equipment, read hydraulic schematics and technical service information, use fleet maintenance software, and document repairs accurately.
