The instructor will deliver vocational and occupational education—covering subjects such as business, technology, carpentry, plumbing, and other trades—to inmates, helping them acquire practical skills and knowledge in a correctional environment.
This position involves creating instructional plans that align with curriculum standards, employing a variety of teaching materials, assessing student performance, and providing additional support as needed to ensure successful learning outcomes.
- Prepare course objectives following curriculum standards and contractual requirements.
- Plan and document individualized programs of study to meet student needs and abilities.
- Provide instruction using handouts, texts, audiovisual aids, and other educational materials.
- Evaluate student performance, issue progress reports, and offer additional instruction when needed.

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, possess relevant work experience or a bachelor's degree, and meet Florida educator certification requirements, including eligibility for a Professional Educator’s certificate or a state‑issued certificate within the first year of employment.
