Description

The Assistant Project Manager works closely with the Project Manager to administer, direct, and coordinate the activities of field supervisory personnel within the operations division. This position ensures that project workflows run smoothly and that information flows efficiently among the team.

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager is accountable for supporting project execution, maintaining documentation, and assisting with procedural development and project closeout.

• Distribute drawing and design revisions, bulletins, to the Project Manager, supervisors, and trades.
• Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures for project operations.
• Support the project closeout process.
• Represent the company in negotiations with owners.
• Maintain and distribute project meeting minutes.
• Report project progress to the Project Manager.
• Perform basic estimating, take‑offs, and solicit quotes.

Requirements

• Required: bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field; or a degree in another field plus four years of Project Engineer experience.
• Preferred: bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering.
• Required: two years as a Project Engineer with construction management experience.
• Preferred: four or more years of construction management experience.
• Must understand industry practices and trends and possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
