The Food Court Assistant works alongside team members to keep common areas clean, safe and welcoming. The role involves day‑to‑day cleaning of designated zones to meet established standards, operating cleaning machines after training, and presenting a professional, friendly image at all times. The assistant must be able to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative without constant supervision.
Key duties include following departmental procedures, handling waste and recycling, and maintaining all publicly accessible surfaces such as floors, windows, walls, signage, stairs, lifts and vending areas. The assistant is also responsible for reporting any maintenance issues, completing daily documentation, attending meetings and training, and supporting colleagues to ensure smooth departmental operation. Consistently high standards of customer service and adherence to health‑ and safety regulations are essential.
The role requires a confident and friendly demeanor, strong verbal and written communication, and the physical ability to operate heavy cleaning equipment and perform repetitive lifting, bending and pushing tasks. Candidates should be self‑motivated, flexible, and capable of working without direct supervision while contributing positively to the team. The position is full‑time, 40 hours per week (Saturday‑Wednesday 13:00‑21:30) with a rate of £12.21 per hour.
