We are seeking a detail-oriented Planner to support scheduling and controls across engineering and construction projects. Reporting to the Project Controls Director, you will work closely with senior planners and project teams to ensure effective project delivery. The role involves preparing, updating, and monitoring schedules, resource loading, variance analysis, and reporting.
You will lead the development of project schedules, load resource and budget data, establish baseline schedules, and keep them current. In addition, you will issue schedules for internal and external stakeholders, monitor work progress against the plan, and identify and explain variances using earned value and forecasting techniques. Regular reporting of critical schedule issues and presenting updates to project leadership are also key duties.
The ideal candidate holds a university degree such as a B.Eng or B.Com and has at least five years of planning and project controls experience, preferably in engineering and construction environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and thorough knowledge of Primavera P6 are required, along with the ability to learn new software tools. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as experience with critical path, progress measurement, and earned value methods, are essential.
