Partake in planning and coordination of research and development related to tailings and soil analysis.
Provide practical and economic solutions to clients that differentiate the team.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of existing and emerging opportunities, trends, regulatory requirements and best practices e.g. ICMM, GISTM, etc.
Act as a key technical resource for ongoing mining and dam projects across the Prairies, including work with Tailings Facility operations, planning and design.
Contribute to the development of project proposals/cost estimates and participate in the process of securing new business opportunities or expanding the scope of existing projects.
Application of Design Standards and Guidelines in a design and ground investigation environment.
Complete tailings dam inspections, dam safety reviews, and other studies related to the design and behavior of tailings facilities.

Highly developed client management skills.
Experienced in general geotechnical numerical software.
Degree in civil/geological/geotechnical engineering or geology with a post graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject and have a minimum of 15 years pertinent experience.
Understanding of complex analytical results and application for design and/or research. A strong understanding of undrained shear strength, soil loading, and liquefaction related to coarse and fine tailings review would be an asset.
Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to support the development of teams.
A valid driving license.
Proven experience of acting in a senior role in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
Project management - experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients, and work planning.
Experience acting as a senior technical expert for a site or design.
A strong academic background with a relevant degree (ideally MSc or equivalent).
Demonstrated local market knowledge and an established presence and reputation within the local geotechnical consulting and client network.
Excellent report writing skills with the ability to peer-review and produce quality deliverables.
Understand construction drawings and design reports to support construction and provide guidance and troubleshooting for field testing and performance of materials such as soil and concrete.
A willingness to travel on short assignments both within Saskatchewan and nationwide.
Professional Engineering License in Saskatchewan.
Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients.
Knowledge of geotechnical software for assessing slope stability, flow and stress-strain analysis such as PLAXIS, Geostudio and Rocscience.
Proven geotechnical design experience.
