Construction Manager - Government Projects

Description

• Interfacing with the client and other consultants at all project stages
• Financial management: prompt client invoicing and monitoring project financial status
• Project planning, including producing a detailed project plan
• Monitoring and applying performance management techniques
• Managing the change control process
• Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client through regular meetings and written communications
• Preparing formal project budget progress and other reports
• Quality control: ensuring compliance with quality standards
• Constructing proposals for new work or variations for existing projects
• Identifying opportunities to improve project management procedures, templates, and products
• Ensuring the appropriate line manager is aware of quality, safety, health, and environment issues
• Establishing effective project governance, processes, and systems
• Discharging general line management responsibilities where appropriate
• Advising strategically during the project conception stage to achieve client objectives
• Building strong working relationships with clients and cross‑functional team members
• Identifying business development and cross‑selling opportunities with existing and new clients
• Ensuring key information and data are effectively shared and appropriately retained
• Adhering to SOX control responsibilities where applicable

Requirements

The company is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead large‑scale projects for a key government client. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter with excellent communication skills who can drive activities with limited supervision and will work on‑site. There is a potential opportunity for travel or relocation for upcoming client projects after the assignment is completed.

• This role requires on‑site presence
• Demonstrating great time management to ensure quality standards, efficiency, and on‑time completion
• Working effectively as a team member within the context of delivering a specific commission
• 7‑10 years of construction experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager on commercial ground‑up real estate projects
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for client‑facing roles
• Experience managing demanding stakeholders and work‑stream managers
