Senior Project Manager - Pharmaceutical Construction

Description

• Coordinate with QA/validation teams for commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV).
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
• Lead cross-functional teams including architects, engineers, construction managers, QA/QC, validation, and contractors.
• Monitor project schedules with critical path analysis tools (Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Mitigate risks that may affect cost or schedule, including scope creep and regulatory delays.
• Track KPIs, milestones, and performance metrics.
• Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
• Manage internal project team performance and external consultants.
• Maintain detailed documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and approve design submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Support audits and regulatory inspections.
• Develop and manage project budgets (often $10M–$100M+), including forecasting and cost control.
• Manage contractor RFPs, selection, contracts, and performance.
• Develop detailed project execution plans (PEP), schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Provide regular progress reports for executive leadership and stakeholders.
• Ensure all construction meets cGMP, FDA, EMA, and EHS standards.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, validation, and quality teams early in planning.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring adherence to design, budget, and schedule.

Requirements

• Advanced, teachable understanding of CM theories – company mission, vision, and goals; identity, branding, business development
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management and/or related field
• This is a position for individuals with ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of experience in commercial construction, with at least five (5) years in pharmaceutical construction
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Highly proficient in the use of CM applications, including but not limited to Procore, Vista, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Applications
