The Project Accountant leads onsite project accounting, providing financial services such as contract review, billing, work‑in‑place reporting, subcontractor payments, and cash reporting. The role supports project managers and may be based in the main office or on a construction jobsite.
- Prepare and post monthly progress billings, ensuring contractual compliance.
- Review and approve budget changes from change orders or project manager discretion.
- Maintain and distribute weekly productivity rate tracking spreadsheets.
- Conduct cash position and projection analysis.
- Audit project billings to confirm all costs are submitted for payment.
- Post subcontractor progress billings in accounting software and manage approval workflow.
- Assist operations in preparing monthly cost‑at‑completion estimates.
- Facilitate monthly cost‑at‑completion review meetings with Operations and Finance.
