  • Develops and implements strategies to ensure program stays on schedule while meeting or exceeding targeted outcomes.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for one or more large utility clients in California.
  • Directs and coordinates with project staff and cross functional teams to ensure overall program success.
  • In coordination with senior leadership, works with clients on contractual requirements and program integration with broader energy efficiency programs in the sector.
  • Leads program implementation strategies to achieve project goals and encourage customers to implement resource efficiency projects.
  • Takes an active role in defining and maintaining the company culture, exhibits internal and industry leadership, and provides meaningful input into strategic planning initiatives.
  • Forecasts spending (staff time and direct costs) and revenues for assigned programs and portfolios.
  • Performs program-level quality assurance and prioritizes which deliverables require review and at what level.
  • Oversees and participates in program implementation, including the development of reports and project deliverables.
  • Develops and reviews project proposals or plans to determine timeline, budget, project plan, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources.
  • Tracks program information, including participation, contact information, project status, energy savings, goals, and budget expenditures.
  • Develops and tracks program budgets and metrics to ensure the appropriate level of effort is being spent based on program goals and resources.
  • Prepares timely and accurate project reports.
  • Coordinates with the senior leadership to establish work program plans and ensure adequate resourcing for each phase of projects and programs.
  • Conducts high-level analysis of data, markets, and policies and develops appropriate recommendations for RI and its clients and customers.
  • Monitors and forecasts profitability of projects and programs.
  • Develops relationships with industry leaders and high-level client contacts to encourage them to implement cost-effective resource efficiency solutions.

  • Proven project management experience in developing and implementing project scopes, budgets and plans.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in a field related to environmental sciences, energy efficiency, or sustainability.
  • Experience managing small business energy efficiency programs.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of previous energy efficiency program management experience.
  • Experience working in California's Energy Efficiency Regulatory environment.
  • Located in or willing to relocate to the state of California, preferably in greater San Diego area within 30 days of acceptance.
  • Demonstrated experience providing innovative ideas and executing them to drive program demand and success rates.
  • Ability to take theoretical outcomes and translate them to strategies, decisions and a final product. Requires ability to prioritize and make decisions quickly but effectively.
  • Demonstrates an ability to work cross-functionally with other Managers responsible for similar initiatives, within the region and across the company.
