The Renewables Technician (I‑III) supports multiple photovoltaic (PV) plants across Duke Energy Florida’s service territory. Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment, performing emergency repairs, managing design changes, and providing operations and maintenance support for new and existing sites. The role also schedules maintenance, installations, start‑up activities, and coordinates testing and contract resources to improve O&M quality.
Work is field‑based; employees must live within a reasonable commute (≈1 hour) to their assigned site and be able to work 12‑hour rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime as plant conditions require. Required personal protective equipment includes hard hat, steel‑toe shoes, safety glasses, and arc‑flash gear, and employees must be able to lift 50 lb and handle extreme temperatures. Travel averages 5‑15 % and occasional overnight trips may be needed.
