The role involves communicating with WM drivers to assist with problem resolution while they are on route for residential, commercial, and roll‑off lines of business. It includes handling incoming service orders, directing drivers, and interacting with customers, WM customer service, sales, route managers, and mechanics using WM’s proprietary software to manage same‑day ticket routing and prepare next‑day routes. Shifts may vary with potential overtime, Saturday hours, and up to 15% travel to work face‑to‑face with site dispatchers.
Key duties include dispatching drivers based on customer needs, driver locations, and load information; collaborating with sites and the service department to optimize routes; determining daily staffing levels for optimal responsiveness and productivity; assigning routes and service tickets for the current and next day; and managing incoming calls and emails. The employee also initiates communication with customers while drivers are on site, resolves pick‑up and delivery issues, troubleshoots potential service problems, and ensures missed pick‑ups are addressed promptly.
This is a remote position with a flexible shift that must fall within the operational hours of 2:30 am to 6 pm ET. Strong computer skills and MS Office proficiency are preferred, and excellent communication abilities are highly valued. Dispatch, routing, and logistics experience is required.
Qualifications require a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of relevant experience working in a team environment with strong organizational and multitasking skills. Candidates must be proficient with multiple computer programs, communicate effectively via email, telephone, and two‑way devices, and be willing to learn WM’s proprietary software applications.
Work is performed from a home‑office setting in the United States. The position offers a base pay range of $21.00‑$22.00 per hour and a competitive total compensation package that includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, a stock purchase plan, 401(k) match, paid vacation, holidays, and personal days.
