The role involves delivering high‑quality surveys, designs and technical advice for kitchen and bathroom projects, supporting investment and capital improvement programmes. You will work on NLE capital kitchen design projects, attend design meetings, and visit tenant homes to take measurements and guide clients through layout options, colour, cabinet and worktop choices while ensuring compliance with SHQS.
- Deliver high‑quality kitchen and bathroom surveys, designs and technical advice.
- Visit tenant homes to take measurements and present layout, colour, cabinet and worktop options.
- Produce CAD/planner drawings and formal design documentation for client approval.
- Ensure designs comply with SHQS and all statutory, contractual and regulatory standards.
- Provide estimates, costing information and clear technical communication throughout projects.
- Contribute to commercial growth and continuous improvement within the branch.
- Maintain safe working practices with a customer‑first approach.

Key criteria include proactive self‑starting, ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines, and strong customer service. Required experience covers home measurements, use of CAD/planner software, knowledge of kitchen installation legislation, and strong communication skills. A full UK driving licence and experience in social housing or local authority projects are advantageous, as is an HNC/HND in Construction or Building Services.
All candidates must have the right to work in the UK; Mears does not sponsor visas. To drive a Mears vehicle you must be over 21, have held your licence for at least three months and have fewer than nine points. Roles are subject to background, identity and security checks before employment begins.
- Proven experience conducting home measurements and surveys.
- Proficiency with planner/CAD software such as Cabinet Vision.
- Knowledge of kitchen installation legislation and specifications.
- Strong IT, communication and influencing skills.
- Full UK driving licence (over‑21, held >3 months, less than 9 points).
- HNC/HND in Construction or Building Services (desirable).
- Experience in social housing or local authority client projects (advantageous).
