The Structural Engineer III plays a key role in the successful execution of projects. This individual will provide technical and engineering excellence, as well as successful delivery of work to our customers. The Structural Engineer III is responsible for a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and managed – both externally and internally. The successful candidate will also contribute to a dynamic team environment by being proactive, communicating clearly to all stakeholders, and modeling a highly collaborative working environment. This person will also help support the business development process, through the writing of proposals and meeting with prospective and current customers.
- Provide work direction to other team members (including subcontractors), and technical and engineering support to other departments/disciplines.

- Coordinate work with both internal and external stakeholders, providing technical support and work direction as needed.
- Meets commitments to internal/external customers.
- Oversee the production of construction documents including drawings and specifications, ensuring the application of sound structural engineering principles.
- Effectively execute projects. Help develop estimates for assigned scope of work, and ensure we stay within scope and adhere to the overall project budget (KFI labor, expenses, and subs).
- Participate in business development – proposals, meetings with clients, interviews.
- Serve as structural discipline lead for complete projects from start to finish.

- Adapts communication style and method based on audience and situation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and meeting management skills.
- Works well under pressure.
- Strong structural design experience across a variety of industries (agribusiness and/or central utility) and materials (concrete and steel, masonry helpful).
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future.
- Plans projects well, managing last-minute rushes and disruptions.
- Possess an understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering construction practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
- Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views.
- Experience using structural analysis software (RISA or similar).
- Knowledge of computer technology and specific areas of application, including MS Office.
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering.
- Travel: May include some domestic travel 1 to 2 days in duration – typically not exceeding 10% to 15% throughout the year.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification. Registration in multiple states, or ability to become registered in multiple states, is desirable.
- 10+ years of experience.
- Experience designing heavy industrial structures and facilities common to the agribusiness or central utility industries.
- Demonstrates agility, adapts well to changes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Design strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated consistency in successful combination of design and/or project management.

Salary Range: $103,000 - $128,700 annually. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual qualifications, experience, work location, and education. This position is eligible for an annual bonus.
