Description

• Collaborate with sales and design teams to define production quantities and ensure manufacturable, efficient product designs.
• Source, assess, and manage vendors for manufacturing equipment from design through commissioning.
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures, conduct time studies, and determine labor requirements for new processes.
• Analyze production data to prioritize continuous improvements in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and sustainability.
• Lead root cause analyses and coordinate corrective actions with safety, quality, production, maintenance, design, and sustainability teams.
• Train teams on new equipment and processes.

Requirements

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will initially focus on developing manufacturing processes to support the launch of the SAMI factory and, after launch, will drive efficiency and continuous improvement in a fast‑paced, technology‑focused manufacturing environment. The role requires a highly collaborative, data‑oriented problem solver with an eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and solid project‑management skills.

• Hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, MES, and ERP systems.
• Skilled in reading structural, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic technical drawings.
• Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit) and industrial automation (PLC logic, robot programming).
• Hands‑on experience setting up new manufacturing facilities with an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Demonstrate strong project management, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Lean Six Sigma or PMP designations are considered assets.
• Experience in highly automated or roboticized environments is preferred.
• Background in large‑scale wood product manufacturing or residential construction is an asset.

Benefits

The expected base salary range for this position is $70,000‑$110,000, with actual pay varying based on knowledge, competencies, and skills. Employees are also eligible to participate in Mattamy’s annual bonus program, offering the opportunity to increase total compensation based on business and individual goals.
