The Senior Preconstruction Risk Manager oversees risk during the preconstruction phase, providing leadership to multiple project teams or a single large project as needed. Responsibilities include ensuring technical success, managing relationships with team members, and acting as a senior leader who motivates and communicates the company's and sector’s strategic goals.
- Analyze bid documents to identify risks, opportunities, and present findings to management.
- Define contract risk and cost exposure; propose mitigation measures or appropriate contingencies.
- Lead, develop, and mentor preconstruction team members and junior estimators.
- Provide expert HCSS input on labor rates, equipment rates, insurance, bonding, and taxes.
- Manage delivery of preconstruction services throughout all design development stages.
- Develop and maintain effective, lasting client relationships.
- Act as a senior leader, motivate teams, and communicate sector and division goals.

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management with 7‑10+ years of relevant experience, including business development, operations, and commercial construction knowledge. The role requires independent work, initiative, priority setting, and the ability to see projects through to completion.
Physical demands involve regular sitting, typing, and communication, occasional standing, walking, reaching, and stooping, and frequent lifting of up to 15 pounds while maintaining records.
