The Mailroom Clerk performs clerical duties related to processing United States Postal Service and interdepartmental mail and packages, as well as handling parcels from shipping services such as UPS and Federal Express. They input text accurately and produce finished documents efficiently using a keyboard or computerized system, copying, compiling and distributing as needed.
The Clerk communicates effectively with staff, inmates/residents, and visitors, responding to verbal and written inquiries, answering phones, routing calls, and taking accurate messages.

They complete required forms and records thoroughly, accurately, and legibly, and read and comprehend correspondence, policies, regulations, procedures, reports, and other moderately complex documents.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and a minimum age of 18. Preferred experience is one year of mailroom operations or full‑time clerical work, strong organizational and attention‑to‑detail skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.
