Key duties include applying paints, varnishes, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, and other substrates using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, and preparing surfaces by cleaning, removing old coatings, and repairing imperfections. The specialist must understand paint composition and select appropriate products for materials such as plaster, wood, brick, or metal, while also possessing a keen eye for color matching.
The role focuses on applying protective coatings to various surfaces, requiring solid knowledge and practical skill in paint application.
Safety compliance and adherence to project guidelines are mandatory, and the employee may be tasked with additional responsibilities as needed. Candidates must hold at least a high school diploma, be at least eighteen years old, and demonstrate strong manual dexterity and color‑judgment abilities. Physical stamina is required to work for extended periods with arms raised overhead, and knowledge of proper tool care and safe handling of paints, solvents, and adhesives is essential.
