Description

• Provide technical design for the assigned discipline area.
• Peer review project work within the discipline.
• Help establish and improve discipline standards with the team.
• Ensure adherence to project design schedules.
• Maintain discipline project budgets.
• Monitor project scope during design to identify additional service opportunities.
• Deliver regular project status updates, including task progress and completion percentages.
• Identify milestone dates for discipline deliverables to support design coordination.
• Offer on‑the‑spot technical advice, decisions, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with all involved disciplines and external consultants.

Requirements

Dewberry is seeking a Security/Technology (Low Voltage) Designer to support the Technology group at the Engineering Design Center in Nashville, TN. The role resides in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary engineering department that values client focus, motivation, organization, and an outgoing personality, while offering growth in technical and management skills. Candidates should have a technology design background and hold a Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), or Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification.

• Require a high school diploma.
• Require RCDD, CPP, or PSP certification.
• Require 3+ years experience in low voltage systems such as structured cabling, access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, overhead paging, audio/visual, nurse call, RTLS, infant protection, and emergency responder radio communications.
• Possess knowledge of the design and construction process.
• Demonstrate self‑motivation with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience designing low voltage systems using BIM/Revit platforms.
• Be well organized with the ability to take detailed notes.
• Hold a strong conceptual understanding of low voltage system operation, space requirements, and cost.
