Support Inspection personnel and other inspection, integrity and corrosion sponsored contractors in the prioritisation and planning of work.
Maintain up to date knowledge of innovative & Advanced NDT techniques.
Attend regular planning meetings and asset specific meetings.
Assist both Asset Focal points and the Inspection Focal point with activities of sub-contractor/3rd Parties, for work required
Conduct pre-mobilisation briefs with technicians to communicate safety expectations, workscope details and provide Maintenance Management System familiarisation.
Give technical advice in order to ensure ad-hoc inspections are completed and integrity of units are fully assessed.
Ensure timely submission of deferrals to discipline Engineers in the client system for workscopes that cannot be executed before the target completion date.
Ensure that work is of a quality to meet company standards and is produced in a timely and cost effective manner.
Assure checks of invoicing data are aligned to correct labour & plant prior to submission to client. Assist with queries as required
Ensure Quality & Technical Governance checks are carried out on inspection reports to maintain compliance as per UKAS 17020 accreditation.
Liaise and plan with Bilfinger ANDT Team for any planned and emergent Advanced Inspection scopes
Align the discipline requirements of the role and delegate the operational requirements to the Project Engineer / provide assurance.
Liaise and plan with Bilfinger Inspection and Rope access Stores Teams for all Inspection Equipment requirements
Provide primary interface between onshore inspection and onsite Integrity Engineering team for designated asset(s).
Interface with installation Integrity Engineer(s) & Integrity Discipline(s|) to provide clarification on NDT inspection techniques in order to meet integrity objectives.
Liaise with Installation Integrity Engineer to maximise opportunistic inspection of vessels, plant and equipment at the request of the client.
Take direction & report progress from / to the Inspection Focal Point Engineer in the prioritisation of technical evaluation & examination activities, specification of inspection equipment & materials and aligned competent personnel for Risk Based Inspection and Inspection provision for Remediation & Construction activities.
Provide functional guidance to inspection vendors or other subcontractors on NDT Inspection discipline specific matters.
Liaise with Asset Focal Points, discipline Engineers and Site Integrators to ensure workscope readiness and gate compliance is met for all inspection and support related activities to meet planning requirements
Review of Work pack requirements, inspection reports, isometrics, vessel general arrangements and P&ID drawings, coordinate activities in order all practical equipment provisions and personnel competence requirements are made in a timely manner.
Submit weekly working hours, making sure hours & coding are correct and are processed in line with contract
Amended / give direction to the Project Engineer of CTR technical requirements / amendments in a timely manner before submission to the client.
Management and supervision of discipline issues, direction to Project Engineer colleagues on cost, service, Operational & technology issues.
Review and estimating checksheets in the clients Maintenance Management Systems to ensure support, personnel and equipment requirements are identified to allow efficient planning.
Assure Project Engineer Work related to CTRs meet both technical & quality requirements and facilitate so they are completed for any new work scopes and submitted to the client in a timely manner including at year end for the following year
Maintain assurance of UKAS accredited NDT techniques and any knowledge of integrity threats & mitigation suitability.
Specify Inspection Plant, Material and Equipment requirements for any new scopes to the Inspection Project Engineer

Qualified in Advanced NDT Techniques
Ability to effectively communicate and articulate inspection and corrosion issues at all levels within offshore organisation.
Proven ability to work without supervision and to provide effective supervision to others.
Experience in inspection in a relevant process industry with the majority of the above experience elements. In particular, experience in the application of inspection tools and techniques.
Computer literate with proven ability to use common Microsoft Office packages.
Experience of ‘in-service’ plant inspection and NDT in an offshore environment
Proven ability to work without supervision and to provide effective supervision to others
Clear understanding of major discipline issues arising from oil and gas production systems. Awareness of materials and key degradation mechanisms associated with the deterioration of offshore production facilities.
IRATA Level I
Experience within a relevant discipline of which at least one year shall have been spent working within an engineering discipline associated with the relevant field of inspection
Qualified and competent in all grades of ultrasonic weld inspection
Understands Risk Based Inspection objectives and applied NDT inspection techniques employed to meet said objectives.
Detailed knowledge of the uses and limitations of commonly applied non-destructive examination techniques applied in support, e.g. MPI, DPI, UT measurement, Rad techniques.
PCN Level II or equivalent in MPI, DPI, and UT (UT must be 3.1/3.2 Plate and Pipe)
HNC/HND level in a relevant engineering discipline
Ability to communicate fluently and effectively, in the English language, with peers, direct reports, sub-contract personnel and immediate management
Awareness of piping and vessel design codes, e.g. ASME VIII, PD5500, ASME B31.3.
Ability to read and interpret commonly used engineering drawings and data sets used in support of inspection activities, e.g. piping isometrics, vessel general arrangements, piping and instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams, piping schedules.
Working knowledge of the use and limitations of specialist NDE techniques applied in support of above water inspection and monitoring programmes, e.g. pulsed eddy current, thermography, time of flight diffraction, CHIME, etc.
