In this role you will lead a team of actuaries and actuarial data experts on large, complex capitation rate‑setting projects, mentor junior actuaries, and develop new actuarial business opportunities. You will define and manage client scopes of work, design rate structures and methodologies, and ensure compliance with federal regulations and actuarial standards. You will also oversee the development of rate‑setting assumptions, collaborate with Guidehouse leaders and health‑policy consultants to solve program challenges, and build communications such as rate certification letters and rate books.
Job Family: Finance & Accounting Consulting. Travel required up to 10%. No clearance required.
A BA/BS degree is required, though relevant experience may substitute for formal education. Candidates must have at least 10 years of health actuarial experience, including 5 years in Medicaid, and hold actuarial credentials such as ASA, FSA, or MAAA. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and complex projects is also required.
Preferred qualifications include Medicaid actuarial consulting experience across various state programs, health insurers, or Federal agencies, as well as demonstrated client and project management capabilities in demanding environments.
