Reporting to the Project Superintendent, the Project Manager provides overall direction and leadership for entire projects or portions of larger, complex endeavors. This role fully implements and manages project operations and administration, builds lasting relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors, and supports JE Dunn’s self‑perform work with travel to assigned sites.
Core responsibilities include leading the company’s safety culture, managing the JE Dunn pre‑start process, supporting pre‑construction activities such as quantity take‑off and bid package development, and overseeing the buy‑out schedule and subcontractor selection. The manager also coordinates submittal schedules, risk analysis, stakeholder communications, change requests, project meetings, pay applications, scheduling using Lean principles, and provides comprehensive documentation, reporting, and financial forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.
Key competencies required are strong verbal and written communication, effective presentation skills, proficiency in MS Office, advanced use of project management, accounting, construction technology, and scheduling software, and an ability to apply Lean processes. The role also demands relationship‑building, budget management, and the capacity to navigate complex project processes.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and possess at least five years of construction management experience. A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds are required, with occasional travel, non‑traditional hours, and exposure to extreme conditions possible.
