Large Casting Processor

Description

• Perform duties across casting, molding, and finishing areas.
• Assist the molder with ladle repairs, loading/unloading flasks, bottom boards, and upsets.
• Pour and shake out molds, operate automated shake‑out machine, and conduct core knockout.
• Grind large castings and operate shot‑blast equipment to remove fins, sprues, risers, gates, and surface irregularities.
• Transport metal using gas‑operated fork trucks or hand trucks and operate a power sweeper.
• Use hand tools, air grinders, air chisels, band saws, etc., to finish castings.
• Install wheels or abrasive belts on machines and make simple adjustments as needed.
• Patch surface imperfections to meet QC standards.
• Report unusual or questionable situations to supervision.

Requirements

The position involves a wide variety of duties throughout the large casting, molding, and finishing areas. Candidates must reside within 50 miles of Syracuse, as no relocation assistance is provided. Only applicants from the immediate Syracuse area will be considered.

Applicants must have at least six months of manufacturing experience. The role requires the ability to read, write, add, subtract and follow instructions, including the use of fixed gauges and other non‑interpretive instruments. Sizable physical effort is required, with continuous heavy manual work performed in various ways.
