Part Time Porter

Description

The Porter assists with corrective, preventative, routine, and cosmetic maintenance, as well as the make‑ready process, working under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and Community Manager.

• Perform daily cleaning, trash removal, and upkeep of interior and exterior common areas.
• Respond promptly to resident and management work orders for buildings, units, and grounds.
• Conduct daily inspections to identify and correct hazardous conditions.
• Assist in preventive maintenance to extend property lifespan and reduce future repairs.
• Maintain an organized, stocked maintenance shop following OSHA safety standards.
• Support the Maintenance Supervisor with hazard communication and safe work practices.
• Participate in unit inspections and on‑call emergency response.
• Deliver excellent customer service and monitor service request turnaround times.
• Enforce community policies and report rule violations to management.
• Operate required equipment, including ladders, power tools, and motor‑vehicles safely.
• Meet physical demands such as lifting 100+ lb objects and working in varied weather conditions.

Requirements

• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, and knowledge of Fair Housing and OSHA regulations.
