Support the Project Owner with the utility interconnect process by completing or reviewing the necessary applications, load letters, RFIs, scheduling utility meetings, responding to utility data requests, coordinating the two-way exchange of information, and facilitating utility planning meetings with the Owner, EPC Contractor, and the Utility.
Support the Owner with project risk management and scheduling.
Monitor the development and track progress of design deliverables and provide a peer review for completeness for each design submittal: 30%, 60%, 90%, Issued for Construction and jurisdictional submissions, advising the Owner of any issues or nuances in design or construction that could impact the execution or delivery of the project.
Review and report upon permitting application packages to ensure that the drawings, specifications and documents are in accordance with the local authority’s requirements, and are in place and in accordance with the Owner’s conditions of the contract.
Project management of substation projects including design-bid-build and EPC delivery models
Represent the Owner in meetings with local gas and electric utilities, EPC Contractor, and/or both internal and external partners/stakeholders.
Oversee scope, schedule, and assist the Owner with budget management.
Oversee the Owner and internal HDR engineering disciplines for responses to design RFI’s and submittal reviews.
Review the EPC Contractor's Construction Plan, Site Logistics Plan, Health & Safety Plan and Quality Plan prior to construction start.
Support the Owner with EPC Contractor RFP development and bid selection.
Responsible for interfacing with project stakeholders, including the Owner, the serving utilities, Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), and EPC Contractor throughout the phases of project development and execution.
Monitor the performance of the EPC Contractor during construction.
Represents HDR to support marketing and proposal development for power delivery opportunities.

Able to travel to project sites for in-person meetings & site visits when necessary. Less frequent during design phase, more frequent during construction phase.
Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
Experience reviewing EPC contract terms and managing scope change processes
Proactive, responsive, savvy communicator
Proficient experience in substation design up to 500kV
Experience with energy utilities and interconnect processes for mission critical projects
Strong technical knowledge of substations and the energy industry
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
