Design any structures needed for the plant including items for installation of machinery, building improvement, temporary erection/loading, or other requested designs.
Assist Safety/Environmental as needed in data collection and analysis as well as any technical information research.
Assist in project expediting through engineering clarification, procurement outreach, and production planning.
Provide the plant with engineering and technical expertise including interpreting engineering drawings, surveying and layout, maintaining and controlling drawings and engineering documents.
Determine necessary machinery/equipment for the improvement or upkeep of the fabrication plant.
Support outside fabrication of project materials through third parties when in-house execution is deemed outside of the shop’s capabilities.
Properly store all documentation for ease of access and risk mitigation.
Manage subcontractor relationships and develop necessary connections for the improvement of the plant as well as to support third party fabrication efforts.
Maintain all current and past drawings and documents pertaining to the fabrication plant to ensure accuracy.
Proactively identifies and solves complex problems
Proactively embraces and promotes the company’s values and culture, including diversity & inclusion and a healthy and safe work environment
Support operational leads in the movement of material through the shop including the development of lifting plans.
Communicate directly with suppliers and in-house purchasing to procure necessary items, while developing cost analysis and/or justification of all expenditures.
Improve and develop attachments and controls for machinery to ensure employee safety
Oversee activity being performed by subcontractors on the CB&I site or ensure there is a defined method of oversight.
Work with subcontracting and safety to evaluate and approve of new subcontractors and ensure that all subcontractors abide by written policy.
Understand and improve material movement through the plant by adjustment and analysis of machine locations and process flow.
