Description

Daily duties include applying various painting and wall‑covering techniques, removing and replacing furniture or fixtures, installing and repairing drywall and plaster, and preparing surfaces by cleaning, filling, and sanding. The painter will mix and match paints and stains to specifications, safeguard surrounding areas with masking and drop cloths, and inspect and repair damaged surfaces such as water‑affected drywall.

• Apply painting and wall‑covering techniques to interior and exterior surfaces.
• Remove, relocate, and reinstall furniture, equipment, shelving, and fixtures as needed.
• Install, repair, tape, patch, and sand drywall and plaster, including corner beads.
• Prepare surfaces by washing, filling holes, sanding, and applying primer before painting.
• Mix and match paints, stains, and finishes to meet job specifications.
• Use paintbrushes, rollers, and protective coverings to apply finishes safely.
• Inspect and remediate damaged surfaces such as water damage, cracks, and plaster defects.
• Communicate with clients to determine painting requirements and advise on best options.
• Follow safety protocols, utilize tools and equipment securely, and maintain a safe work environment.
• Review and execute work orders using CMMS (e.g., Maximo) and perform preventive maintenance tasks.
• Organize, move, and set up office furniture and equipment for regular use and special events.

Requirements

The Painter role is based at JLL’s New Albany, OH manufacturing facility, where the incumbent will repair, protect, and beautify interior and exterior surfaces. The position combines painting, drywall, and minor carpentry skills with a hospitality mindset to deliver exceptional workplace experiences.

The role requires 3‑5 years of commercial or industrial painting experience, a high school diploma or GED, proficiency in hanging and finishing drywall, strong oral and written communication, a valid driver’s license, and basic computer skills. Preferred qualifications include general building maintenance, familiarity with GMP, and a carpentry background.
