Interacts regularly with homeowners associations and other non-governmental organizations regarding lake operations, recreation and public safety.
Works closely with other departments within Dominion, such as Engineering, Environmental Services, Biologists, Financial, Government Affairs, Public Relations Staff and Legal to address concerns and to ensure accurate and timely filing of federal and state reports.
Actively engages with internal and external water and environmental stakeholders as required for effective water management and environmental decisions.
Assists stations and Power Generation Engineering in ensuring an effective and compliant dam safety program.
Assist with technical evaluations of events and root cause analysis to recommend corrective action.
Analyzes station performance data to verify compliance as required by company policies, procedures and regulatory agencies.
Gathers and maintains significant and diverse data.
Negotiates regulatory agreements and/or resolves conflicts between company interests and regulatory initiatives on behalf of operating facilities to achieve favorable outcomes.
Applies understanding of hydro station operations to coordinate license compliance and recreational requests (e.g. downstream flows, reservoir levels, notification to residents, etc.) with the Market Operations group and Power Generation Operations Support team.
Works closely with station management and staff to ensure understanding and implementation of the environmental and regulatory requirements for their sites.
Prepares reports and updates for executive level management as needed.
Keeps local staff, responsible for implementing the environmental and safety requirements for their facilities, informed on regulatory requirements and provides guidance on action items.
Assists with preparation and implementation of internal reviews for the company's Hydro facilities to assure compliance with federal, state and local regulatory and environmental requirements.
Applies expertise to provide project management, direction and guidance to hydropower stations regarding FERC operations, ensures compliance with federal regulations by reviewing technical evaluations, calculations, and analysis to support operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support/document Company actions.
Serves as the Company's representative for hydro-electric power.

Demonstrated experience acting as a focal point of contact on legal, regulatory, environmental or other issues for internal and external stakeholders desired.
Demonstrated ability to provide training, guidance, and technical subject matter expertise.
Working knowledge of Power Generation hydro operations.
Skilled in research and development of policies and technical information applying subject matter expertise to respond to regulators, interested parties and interrogatories.
Demonstrated ability to integrate work across relevant areas, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
Significant demonstrated work experience with State or Federal environmental regulatory agencies such as the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Environmental Protection Agency, Regional Water Quality Control Boards, and State Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence without authority.
Demonstrated excellent communication, presentation and public speaking skills.
Ability to work independently with general oversight.
Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and database software.
7-8+ years of related experience.
Basic knowledge of biology, engineering environmental ecology and real estate.
Proven ability to present technical information to a variety of audiences with varying degrees of technical and regulatory knowledge or understanding of Power Generation.
