Safely operates a heavy‑duty truck on swing routes, driving a commercial vehicle in residential, commercial, and construction environments.
Operates the vehicle in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal regulations, maintains a clean and safe vehicle, and performs pre‑ and post‑trip inspections using the Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR).
Reports unsafe situations, incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage to the Route Manager or Dispatch, communicates customer requests, and participates in all required training, briefings, and meetings.
Dumps containers, leaves customer locations clean, completes customer tickets for excess yardage, positions containers properly to avoid blocking driveways, follows route assignments throughout the day, and completes all required documentation at the end of the route.
Required qualifications include at least two years of experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent recent military driving experience, being at least 18 years old, legal work eligibility, and holding a Class B Commercial Driver’s License; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.
The role involves physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.
