The Project Accountant will collaborate closely with the regional office team, including project managers, engineers, superintendents, and field office coordinators, to ensure accurate financial management across projects.
Key responsibilities include project job‑cost accounting such as preparing owner draws, collecting payments, and ensuring subcontractor compliance; creating and analyzing financial reports and journal entries; assisting with strategic planning and forecasting; tracking risk management and Notice to Owner (NTO) items; managing cash flow reporting; supporting project audits; reviewing owner contracts for accounting requirements; and providing ad‑hoc support to operations and corporate staff.
DPR Construction is looking for a Project Accountant with at least three years of cost or commercial construction accounting experience. The role is responsible for day‑to‑day accounting of project financials and other duties within a growing construction office.
The ideal candidate is a flexible, detail‑oriented team player who can manage multiple tasks, produce quality work, and consistently meet deadlines. Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field (or CCIFP), three-plus years of cost accounting experience in construction, proficiency in Microsoft Office and cost‑management software such as CMiC, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues.
