The Laboratory Technician I, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOP’s, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies.
- Follows strict safety and quality control procedures.
- Responsible for general housekeeping in his/her work area
- Calculating data
- Accepts and signs for deliveries.
- Recording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor
- Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate
- Cleans work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
- Performing chemical analysis using standard techniques
- Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner
- Works under close supervision using routine and standard methods
- Performing routine instrument maintenance
- Stores, restocks, and shelves samples as necessary.
- Performs microbiology analysis by Idexx methods, which may include, but is not limited to:Handling and processing samples following aseptic procedures.Preparing reagents and media.Preparing dilutions.Recording and tracking incubation times.
- Distributes samples in different departments as appropriate.
- Assists other laboratory areas as needed.
- Cooperate and coordinate both orally and in writing
- Enters records in LIMS system
- Preparing reagents and media.
- Responsible for performing job functions in compliance with Eurofins environmental health safety and quality assurance standards
- Preparing dilutions.
- Washes glassware
- Performs routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs. These include:Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis.Preparation of samples using standard techniquesPerforming chemical analysis using standard techniquesCalculating dataRecording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisorPerforming routine instrument maintenance
- Prepare samples from processing
- Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis.
- Ensures that work area is clean and organized.
- Recording and tracking incubation times.
- Resolves discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
- Handling and processing samples following aseptic procedures.
- Washes laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
- Stocks laboratory supplies.
- Opens coolers and inspects contents of shipments. Checks documentation to ensure all samples are accounted for.
- Prepares general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
- Assists in unloading shipments from delivery truck.
- Preparation of samples using standard techniques

- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.

- Previous production-oriented work (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Samples will be in coolers packed in ice
- Ability to become trained and competent on complex instrumentation including but not limited to gas chromatography, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, atomic absorption, ICP, and instrument specific data systems.

- Possesses physical strength necessary to lift and move heavy boxes received by the lab.

Full-time entry level position with Benefits, Monday - Friday. 8:00am-4:30pm. Brief weekend work will be required approximately one weekend per month on a rotating schedule.
Candidates living within a commutable distance of Danvers, MA are encouraged to apply. Compensation $20-22/hour (depends on experience)
