As a Zone Substation Specialist Electrical Technician, you will play a key role in the construction, installation, commissioning, testing, and maintenance of Zone Substations and associated equipment. This position involves interrogating and analysing systems, operating remote equipment, performing switching operations, and preparing detailed reports on network assets. You will also contribute to business strategies, planning, budgeting, and policy development while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. This role will be based at Port Macquarie.

Required qualifications include a current driver’s licence, Qualified Supervisors Certificate, General Construction Induction Training (White Card), and an Advanced Diploma in ESI Power System with preferred electives in Testing Systems or equivalent experience. You must be able to maintain all regulatory, industry, and business‑required licences and authorisations.
Desired experience includes practical application of electrical qualifications in a similar role, experience promoting and complying with safety, environmental and quality standards, familiarity with technical aspects of Senior Substation Technical Officer roles, and additional certifications such as First Aid, Elevated Work Platform, Traffic Control, Crane Borer, Dogman, Forklift, and awareness in chemical handling, manual handling, and environmental processes.
