What you’ll do: you’ll join the team that keeps automation projects moving by supporting data‑center startups, performing on‑site mechanical, electrical, and control checks, and leading startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems. You’ll partner with automation and controls engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate their systems, provide clear communication and updates to customers and project teams, and work a rotating travel schedule (e.g., 5 on‑2 off, 10 on‑4 off, or 14 on‑7 off).
For those who’d rather be on the move than behind a desk, ProAutomated is opening its 2026 hiring pipeline for curious, adaptable problem‑solvers who love travel, hands‑on work, and being part of a team that actually knows your name. If you can laugh through flight delays, figure things out on the fly, and enjoy solving complex problems, this role could be a perfect fit.
Why you’ll love working with us: Work + Travel combined. You’ll experience new cities, tackle unique projects, and earn travel rewards while working directly with customers across North America, with no office to report to and a schedule that keeps you on the road.
What we’re looking for: a genuine love of travel and willingness to be away from home on rotation, a working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and communication networking, adaptability and grit, strong communication and problem‑solving skills, and residence within 50 miles of a major airport (relocation assistance available) with a personal vehicle. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S., hold a technical degree or equivalent hands‑on experience (3+ years) in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering, and meet physical requirements such as walking long distances, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 50 lb.
Physical requirements include the ability to walk long distances across large facilities, climb ladders or work at heights, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lb, and stand, kneel, or reach for extended periods in varied environments such as construction sites or outdoors; reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.
We value transparency, so our four‑week paid training is designed to prepare technically skilled individuals for field work. Success in training requires a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking, so candidates new to these areas may not be ready yet.
Fair pay that grows with you. Starting salary ranges from $60,000 to $75,000 depending on location, education, and experience, plus per‑diem meals, mileage reimbursement, utilization and weekend bonuses, and a culture of trust and teamwork.
Room to grow. We invest in your development through paid training, annual merit raises, and an automatic 5 % salary increase after six months, supporting a career that can move in multiple directions even if you eventually leave ProAutomated.
Real benefits and real flexibility. We provide health, dental, and life insurance, a matching 401(k), short‑ and long‑term disability, paid vacation, and flexible time off after 18 months, taking care of you on and off the job.
A team that gives you community. As a smaller, people‑first company, we emphasize teamwork, adaptability, and humor; all leaders have risen from within, so your manager has lived the role they ask of you, and you’ll be surrounded by colleagues who have your back.
