Mechanical Component Engineer role invites innovative solutions to complex problems, focusing on control valve design and engineering within the Industrial & Energy Technology (IET) team that serves the global energy value chain across 120 countries.
The Mechanical Component Engineer will work under senior guidance to configure designs, integrate components, and support assemblies that meet business standards and program requirements.
The role involves collaborating across functions and global sites, ensuring proper documentation, product safety, and compliance with codes such as ASME, FM, PED, and ATEX, while applying sound engineering principles.
- Develop and configure valve/actuator designs; participate in design reviews as needed.
- Define material and quality requirements for control valve components based on applications and customer needs.
- Use design tools (2D/3D CAD, SolidWorks, ProE, UG), Excel, and in‑house calculations hands‑on.
- Collaborate with the design team to improve productivity through design automation and present technical data to internal and external customers.
- Engage with cross‑functional teams and global sites to support organizational initiatives and meet objectives.
- Document technical data for projects/tasks in accordance with engineering policies and procedures.
- Ensure product safety and compliance with global codes and regulations such as ASME, FM, PED, and ATEX.
- Execute design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and business standards.
- Perform routine analyses using established methods and contribute to technological developments under supervision.
- Work with business unit contacts to collect or provide technical information as guided.

Successful candidates hold a bachelor’s or master’s in mechanical engineering, have 1‑3 years of design/analysis experience, and possess knowledge of control valve design, instrumentation, pneumatics/hydraulics, and automation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 1–3 years of experience in engineering design, analysis, scientific or technical roles.
- Strong knowledge of control valve design and instrumentation expertise.
- Understanding of control valve functionalities and mechanical engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with valve design, materials, coating processes, and pneumatics/hydraulics.
- Passion for automation and coding.
