Input permit data into the City's permitting software and maintain accurate electronic and physical records.
Assess and collect permit and impact fees.
Assist with scheduling building inspections and maintaining inspection records.
Receive, review, and process building permit applications, plans, and supporting documents for completeness and accuracy.
Coordinate plan reviews between applicants and reviewing departments.
Provide information to contractors, homeowners, and the public regarding permitting requirements, fees, and inspection procedures.
Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with applicable City and State regulations.
Issue approved building permits, Certificates of Occupancy, and other related documents.
Provide exceptional customer service in person, by phone, and via email.

Good time management, organization, telephone, attention to detail, and people skills.
ICC Permit Technician and other certifications are a bonus
Proficient Microsoft Office skills.
Bilingual in English and Spanish or Creole a plus.
Excellent customer service representative skills.
Previous experience in a Florida municipal or county Building Department
Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
Knowledge of the Florida Building Code and municipal development procedures.
Possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele.
