Mechanical Inspector

Description

• Work alongside engineers, contractors, and project leadership to address challenges that arise during construction.
• Assist with system testing, commissioning checks, and readiness evaluations.
• Observe contractor work to confirm adherence to plans, specifications, industry codes, and established standards.
• Keep accurate inspection logs, document issues, and communicate progress updates to the project team.
• Encourage safe work practices and help maintain a safety-focused job site.
• Perform routine field inspections of mechanical components, including pumps, piping, HVAC units, and related systems.
• Examine installation practices and system performance to ensure proper functionality.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of pumps, piping systems, HVAC equipment, and general construction methods.
• Prior experience in DC Water projects is highly beneficial.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of inspection protocols, QA/QC processes, and reporting standards.
• Experience with municipal water systems or pumping operations is a plus.
• Background in reviewing or inspecting mechanical work on water facilities or comparable MEP/civil projects.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
