The Lead Engineer will supply specialized technical input to substation studies and designs, develop procedures that promote cost‑effective, high‑quality work, and take part in interdisciplinary reviews of deliverables. Additional duties include preparing construction and effort cost estimates, conducting quality‑control reviews of calculations and drawings, drafting technical specification sections, and assisting in the creation of engineering budgets and schedules.
Candidates should possess 8–12 years of relevant experience, preferably leading large design engineering teams on grid substation projects. Required expertise includes HV plant design for large EHV substations, familiarity with grid utilities, knowledge of international standards such as IEC and IEEE, and exposure to GIS/AIS primary design. Chartered Engineer or Fellow status with the IET (or equivalent) and strong English communication skills are also essential.
