The Role
Overview
Assist with field engineering, inspections, and project documentation on construction sites.

Tasks
-Coordinates and schedules various phases of construction inspection with the contractor, client representatives and other agencies -Monitor operations to ensure contractor compliance with plans, contract terms and specification -Advises contractors of violations and reviews and recommends approval of corrective measures -Observes and monitors contractor’s construction equipment -Makes field measurements of pay items and conducts materials testing -Maintains and reviews comprehensive project records including daily diaries, materials notebooks, as-built plans, pay quantity records, progress schedules, work orders, and monthly estimates. -Reviews and monitors contractor’s plan of operation -Identifies necessary changes to construction plans to meet field conditions

-At this time, Dewberry will not sponsor a new applicant for work authorization. -Working skill in operating computer equipment, software programs and field inspection equipment. -Willingness and ability to work on a construction job site including the physical ability to safety navigate a construction site on a regular basis. -Only recipients of an offer of employment from Dewberry, will be required to submit to a background screening which may include, but is not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, driving record check, criminal background check, and an investigative consumer report. These screenings will be conducted by Dewberry’s background vendor of choice and will be conducted in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local law. -Previous construction internship experience is a plus. -Ability to drive assigned and/or personal vehicles within roadways and project sites to perform construction inspection activities -Ability to read and interpret roadway and bridge plans and contract specifications -BS in Civil Engineering or related discipline in progress
