Vice President of Construction (Solar)

Description

• Direct overall division strategy, coordination, and performance evaluation.
• Interview, train, assign, and manage employees; handle performance appraisals, rewards, discipline, and conflict resolution.
• Lead compliance with all company safety policies and collaborate with the Safety Director on site safety issues.
• Develop and implement the division’s strategic plan to achieve profitability and client satisfaction.
• Oversee hiring, training, retention, and development of division staff.
• Manage relationships with key vendors, owners, and clients.
• Hold senior management accountable for resolving subcontractor, material, contract, and trade conflicts.
• Maintain open communication with staff, monitor job progress, schedules, subcontractor performance, and field operations.
• Supervise Project Managers and Field Superintendents, providing feedback and annual performance reviews.
• Encourage implementation of new ideas, policies, and procedures.
• Participate in executive team meetings and contribute to overall organizational success.
• Represent the division at trade shows, conferences, and job site visits.
• Support business continuity and succession planning with senior leadership.

Requirements

When visiting job sites, employees may encounter hazards, extreme temperatures, dust, noise, and other physical risks, requiring adherence to basic safety precautions and company Zero Injury principles.

• Minimum 15 years of construction experience in large industrial or renewable energy EPC projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Expertise in strategic planning, organizational development, and operational excellence.
• Proven ability to build high‑performing, inclusive teams and align talent strategy with business goals.
• Strong financial, risk management, and regulatory compliance skills for large‑scale infrastructure.
• Excellent communication, change‑management, conflict‑resolution, and coaching abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Primavera, Viewpoint, and construction software.
