The Workshop Services Buyer at GE Vernova ensures timely project procurement to support workshop and service operations, serving as the main liaison between workshop teams, project groups, and the supply chain while overseeing supplier performance in quality, cost, delivery, and compliance.
Working closely with Regional Commodity Leaders and the sourcing team, the buyer aligns qualified vendors with workshop requirements, supports business cases for new supplier development or framework agreements, and maintains an up‑to‑date supplier panel with optimal terms and conditions.
Key duties include preparing RFQ packages, negotiating with suppliers, issuing purchase orders, leading kick‑off meetings, monitoring schedules through delivery, coordinating supplier quality inspections, interfacing with material planners to align requisitions and shipments with workshop milestones, ensuring ERP data integrity, and collaborating with transport specialists for timely logistics.
The role demands strong sourcing capabilities—supplier selection, contract management, total cost of ownership, and external communication—combined with practical technical knowledge of hydroelectric operations, a result‑oriented mindset, agile problem‑solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement across teams.
Candidates must be fluent in French and English (written and spoken), hold a technical degree or equivalent experience, and possess at least ten years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply‑chain functions within project environments or project management.
