What you would be doing

Perform geotechnical analyses for shallow foundations including bearing capacity, sliding and settlement.
Evaluate subsurface conditions to determine geotechnical engineering properties of soil and bedrock.
Assist in the planning and execution of geotechnical field exploration and laboratory test programs.
Conduct seepage and stability analyses for dams, levees, tunnels and natural and man-made slopes.
Design deep foundations for buildings, bridges, tanks, and other major structures.
Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
Assist in the preparation of geotechnical data reports, geotechnical design reports, and technical specifications.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Ability to apply passion and enthusiasm for design in a collaborative and progressive team-oriented work environment.
Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
This position requires a hybrid work schedule. The selected candidate must be available to work in Chelmsford, MA and/or Providence, Rhode Island on a scheduled basis.
Ability to multi-task and be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing project requirements and deadlines.
Experienced, self-directed professional.
Experience with Plaxis, Slope/W, and AutoCAD.
Experience in the Water/Wastewater/Transportation Industry.
Ability to work with a diverse team.
Detail-oriented and technical, yet experienced enough to see the big picture.
Relevant intern and/or professional experience as a Geotechnical Engineer.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
