• Ensure all contractual obligations under LTSAs are met, including performance guarantees (availability, capacity), reporting requirements, and outage scheduling.
• Act as the primary technical interface and escalation point for key customers regarding service delivery, operational performance, and contract fulfilment(especially LTSAs).
• Oversee the management of spare parts and logistics across all service locations to ensure rapid response to outages.
• Test Engineers – Partner to develop and execute test plans, especially for high-power systems and HIL simulations.
• Control Systems Engineers – Coordinate on implementing control algorithms (e.g., PID) and integrating them into embedded systems.
• Take ultimate responsibility for the long-term operational performance, reliability, and maximum energy output/availability of all BESS assets under service contracts.
• Develop and implement the overall Field Service strategy, including standards for preventative maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance (CM), troubleshooting, and commissioning support.
• Prepare and present regular, comprehensive service and performance reports for internal executive management and external clients.
• Manufacturers (OEMs) providing specialized maintenance or repair services, ensuring their work meets company standards.

• Software Engineers – Facilitate software integration and development.

MSP Limited are seeking a skilled and motivated Head of Field Service – BESS Systems. The Head of Field Service for BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) Systems is a senior position responsible for overseeing all pre and post-installation activities from installation through to operational and maintenance (O&M) activities across a portfolio of energy storage assets. You will be responsible for recruiting, training, mentoring, and managing a national / regional team of Field Service Engineers, and Technicians delivering a portfolio of service and maintenance contracts from installation, maintenance, through to reactive breakdowns troubleshooting advanced Battery Energy Storage Systems across client sites in the UK. This role involves hands-on work with electrical components, control systems, and hybrid energy solutions, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

• Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, and remote monitoring platforms is a plus.
• Experience with PLCs, SCADA, or remote monitoring systems.
• Confident in building a team while satisfying existing commitments.
• Be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.
• Safety-conscious with high attention to detail.

• Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proficient in reading electrical schematics and using diagnostic tools.
• Formal training and qualification as an electrician
• Flexible and adaptable to changing environments and schedules
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Electrical inspection and testing certification (e.g., 18th Edition, C&G 2391)
• Formal training or experience on PCS/Inverter systems, VFD
• Minimum 3 years of experience in field service or electrical systems maintenance.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
