The Sprinkler Design Manager leads a team of sprinkler designers, ensuring quality and timely delivery of design work while supporting sales and operations. This role oversees design procedures, standards, process improvements, and reports to executive management on equipment, staffing, and strategic direction. The manager also ensures adherence to the Operational Excellence program and acts as a senior technical resource.
Key duties include recruiting, hiring, training, and motivating design staff; managing productivity, performance, and conflict resolution; developing project timelines, assigning work, and reviewing design documents using AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and HydraCALC; conducting quality and process checks; facilitating weekly department meetings; and maintaining accurate entries in operating systems such as Compass.
Required qualifications are a high school diploma or equivalent, at least five years of fire sprinkler system design experience, NICET Level 3 certification in Water Based Systems Layout, and proficiency with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and HydraCALC. Experience with industrial fire sprinkler systems, BIM 3D projects, field surveys, and foam or deluge applications is preferred, as are CFPS certification and a valid TWIC card.
Compensation ranges from $110 k to $140 k annually, with hybrid office flexibility.
