The Maintenance Mechanic supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities. This role assists the Site Manager with maintenance and repair efforts while independently performing defined tasks, including interior and exterior inspections, fixture repairs, roofing, and lighting.
Daily duties include performing preventive and corrective work orders, conducting facility inspections, handling interior maintenance tasks, and assisting the operations team with building and equipment repairs. The mechanic also moves furniture and equipment, replaces lighting, cleans HVAC components, completes hazard assessments, and ensures compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
Required qualifications are a high school diploma or GED, 1‑3 years of building maintenance experience with a strong mechanical background, good knowledge of electrical systems, familiarity with lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, basic plumbing skills, and strong customer service and communication abilities. Preferred qualifications include the ability to lift up to 80 lb and work at heights up to 30 ft, experience with CMMS and preventive maintenance, HVAC maintenance expertise, comfort working in extreme temperatures and confined spaces, and additional trade certifications.
The position is based on‑site in Tucson, AZ, with a day‑shift schedule of ten‑hour days, either Sunday‑Wednesday or Wednesday‑Saturday. Compensation ranges from $28 to $36 per hour, based on experience, and the role does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
