Global leader in engineering, offering advanced products and services in mining, materials technology, and machining.
The Design Engineer is responsible for designing and developing bucket liner kits, modifying bucket sizes, and providing design support for ground engaging tools (GET). The role involves design validation, calculations, and creating drawings for buckets and GETs.
Key responsibilities include designing buckets, liners, and GETs for loaders and trucks in underground mines, creating right‑level‑of‑detail CAD models and manufacturing drawings, and preparing bills of material for part and service releases. The engineer must perform BOM and technical specification comparisons, understand materials and standards, and support field service activities.
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering and have 3–4 years of mechanical design experience in Sandvik or a related industry, with knowledge of design standards and materials. Technical expertise required includes concept design development, product application knowledge for various bucket and GET types, and strong proficiency in design calculations, analysis, and validation.
Proficiency with Teamcenter and NX for modeling and drawing creation is essential, while experience with Adobe Illustrator and Keyshot is an added advantage. The role also demands experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment, spare‑part management, BOM handling, and understanding of aftermarket processes.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, verbal and written communication skills are needed to collaborate effectively with global and diverse teams, establish effective working relationships, and support field visits when required. The candidate must show a strong commitment to safety, be able to work independently on multiple projects, and adapt to dynamic environments.
